Join Kayte Young, host of WFIU's Earth Eats, for a workshop featuring a recipe from "Tenderheart" by Hetty Lui McKinnon. All ages; children under 12 must also have a caregiver registered and present.
We'll be making hijiki baked rice wrapped in nori—an exploration of umami, the pleasant, savory taste abundant in this versatile and playful weeknight recipe. We'll have fun assembling and tasting this dish together while talking about cooking traditions, food stories, and memories with loved ones.
All attendees must sign a waiver; you can download and sign it prior to the program, or you can sign one of the copies we'll have on-site.
Note: There are two chances to attend this program on November 18; please register for only one program.
Please contact Becky Craft at bcraft@mcpl.info if you have any questions about this program.
This program is in partnership with WFIU's Earth Eats.
