Hear from the Friends of the Library Board of Directors and the Library Director. Then, Teen Services Manager Sam Ott and special guest patrons will share their creations, experiences, and passions.
You're invited to the Friends of the Library's Annual Meeting! Meet your fellow Library supporters and hear from the Friends Board of Directors and the MCPL Director, Grier Carson. Then learn about how MCPL has found new and exciting ways to engage with teens. No longer the “forgotten audience,” adolescents are now a strong and growing patron base as they find unique opportunities to read, learn, connect, and create thanks to intentional programming and staff mentorship.
MCPL established its first Teen Space in 2015 with the Downtown Library’s The Ground Floor. It has seen an explosion in teen patronage and program attendance over the past near decade of service. Join us for a journey through the evolution of MCPL’s Teen Services, as Teen Services Manager Sam Ott and special guest teen patrons share their creations, experiences, and passions.
